Lamaze Childbirth Classes -The 6 week Bootie Camp

Information Covered: Basic Training:

– Anatomy and Physiology
– Process of labour-early, active, transition
– Signs labour is nearing/beginning
– Pushing/positions for pushing/squatting
– Pain in labour – natural techniques/medications offered
for pain management
– Comfort Measures: Help yourself & enlist others
– Back labour
– Massage techniques
– Breathing techniques
– R&R: Rest & Relaxation techniques
– Medical options – Inductions, Caesarean sections
– Care of the newborn and pospartum mother
– Breastfeeding/bottle-feeding
– Changes within the family – becoming new parents
– Preparing a birth plan
– Role of the support person(s)
– Labour rehearsal
– Special Ops: Alternative therapies – music, aromatherapy,
visualization techniques

*A hospital tour is included with each class series.

Refresher Classes available

Class 1 – Early labour/relaxation & breathing
Class 2 – Active labour/comfort techniques
Class 3 – Transition & pushing/medications
Class 4 – Medical options
Class 5 – Breastfeeding
Class 6 – Postpartum/review

 $120.00 including $25.00 deposit.

*This deposit secures your place in the class as
registration is limited and classes fill quickly. Please make your
deposit payable to Kawartha Lamaze. The remainder of the fee is payable
at the first class.

from 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm

***Class Hopper*** – great for parents who have kids but need a refresher or want updated information

Any 3 classes for $25 each


Any 4 (or more) classes for $20 each

What to bring:

Relaxation, massage, and comfort measures are an integral part of classes so please wear and bring:

– comfortable clothing

– 2 pillows to each class

– a small mat or blanket
